What to Expect at Your First Visit

From your first call to your first checkup, here is how a visit to our Lehi office works. We keep it simple and we go at your pace.

What happens at a first visit to Skyridge Valley Dental Care?

Your dentist does a full exam of your teeth, gums and mouth, talks with you about what they find, and works with you on a treatment plan you are comfortable with. Nothing starts until you understand the plan and the cost.

  • Call (385) 452-6985 to book. New patients of all ages are welcome
  • Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can check your paperwork
  • Bring your insurance card and any questions you have

Before your visit

Three easy steps

Getting started takes one phone call.

1. Call to book

Call us at (385) 452-6985. We will find a time that works for you, including early mornings on Thursday and evenings on Tuesday.

2. We confirm your visit

We ask about your health history, your insurance and anything that helps you feel at ease, so your time in the chair is spent on your care.

3. Get ready

Gather your insurance card and a list of the medicines you take, and write down any questions you want to ask.

Checklist

What to bring

  • Your dental insurance card, if you have one
  • A list of the medicines and vitamins you take
  • Your completed new patient paperwork, or plan to arrive a little early to fill it out here
  • Any questions or worries you want to talk about

Have questions about your coverage? See insurance and payment options or call us and we will check your benefits before your visit.

During your visit

Care you can count on

When you arrive, our team will greet you and get you settled. Before we begin, we make sure you are comfortable, and we explain each step as we go.

  1. Your exam. Your dentist checks your teeth, gums and mouth and looks for any problems. Dental X-rays may be part of your exam so we can see what the eye can't.
  2. Your plan. We talk about what we found and work with you on a treatment plan that fits your needs and your goals.
  3. Your cost. Our team goes over the cost and what your insurance is likely to pay before any treatment starts.

You can ask questions or share what you prefer at any time. This is your visit.

Your comfort

Nervous about the dentist?

You are not alone, and it is never a bother to tell us. Let us know when you book or when you arrive. We will go slowly, explain what we are doing before we do it, and you can ask us to stop and take a break at any time.
